Chris Beaumont Competitions
We encourage our pupils to take part in dance competitions as, by giving them aims to achieve, it raises their standard of performance and helps them to progress to a higher level.
Competitions are organised in the following categories:
- Beginners
- Starters
- Intermediate
- Championship
Our pupils enter the Association of Dance & Freestyle Professionals competitions in Freestyle Disco. These are held once or twice each month in Sheffield, Liverpool, Rotherham or Winsford. We also enter pupils in the annual Yorkshire Open Championships which take place over 5 days at Cayton Bay, near Scarborough.
Competitions are a fantastic social event for parents and pupils. Competitors are part of a team and all support each other. All competitors are trained to a high standard, for this to be achieved competitors have to attend a private lesson. Competitors are trained for Solos, Pairs, Rock n Roll and Slow dance.
Chris has trained competitors to Championship level. The school has two new talented teachers trained by Chris. Lucy Beaumont and Rachel Walker, both of whom were championship dancers.
When attending the competitions, competitors must wear our school tracksuit top which are subsidised by our sponsors OWENS CORNING VEIL UK LTD to whom we are very grateful.
